Advocate Benjamin Magogo graduated with a law degree [LLBS (Hons)] from the University of Zimbabwe in June 2011. He was honoured at graduation by the Law Society of Zimbabwe with the Law Society Book Prize at Troutbeck Inn, Nyanga in November 2011. He is also a holder of a Master of Laws degree with the University of Zimbabwe where he specialized in labour and insolvency law.

He joined the then Matsikidze and Mucheche Legal Practitioners [Commercial and Labour Law Chambers] in October 2011 where he obtained spot-on proficiency and experience in labour and commercial litigation.
Seeking to broaden experience in high-level commercial law practice, Advocate Magogo left Matsikidze and Mucheche Legal Practitioners in February 2013 to join Sinyoro and Partners where he worked as an associate for 2 years.
In 2015, he together with a colleague teamed to start a private practice under the style of Makuwaza and Magogo Attorneys. He practiced as such until December 2020.
On 4 January 2021, he was admitted to practice as an Advocate of the Superior Courts of Zimbabwe based at Advocates’ Chambers, Harare.
He is a polished and efficient civil litigation lawyer particularly in the areas of labour law, commercial and family law, property law disputes, evictions, deceased estates and he has a keen interest in constitutional and criminal law.
He has practiced labour law for a considerable time while representing employers, individual lower level to managerial employees as well as employee or managerial trade unions during his period of practice as an attorney.
He now focuses mainly on commercial law litigation at the bar but has not abandoned his interest in labour law, itself a subset of commercial law.
Advocate Magogo is the labour market’s go-to trainer and facilitator who has spoken on various seminars and workshops for a majority of employment councils in Zimbabwe and has been a consistent presenter at the Ministry of Labour and NECs annual symposia on labour.
He is currently the independent Vice Chairperson of the National Employment Council for the Engineering; Iron & Steel Industry having been so appointed for a four-year tenure starting 1 October 2024. He deputizes corporate law guru and renowned lawyer, Mr Cannan Farirai Dube who is the Independent Chairperson of the same NEC.
